Biofach 2025: African baobab’s gut health benefits and anti-aging herbal tea

Gus le Breton, chair of the African Baobab Alliance, introduced Baobab Exports’ latest innovations at Biofach 2025, Baobab Fruit Purée, with F&B applications. He detailed recent research from the Ghent University in Belgium showing that baobab fruit fiber’s prebiotic effect on gut bacteria is as powerful as inulin but at half the dose. In his role as African Plant Hunter, Le Breton aims to advance knowledge and awareness of African plants and biodiversity. He highlighted Resurrection Bush’s potential as an anti-aging herbal tea currently undergoing EU Novel Food application.
