06 Nov 2023 --- Only 51% of eligible mothers, infants and children participated in the USDA’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), reveals new research by the organization based on data from 2021. According to the study, 12 million were eligible for WIC in 2021. However, only 51% of those, around six million people, took the governmental support. While similar data for 2022 and 2023 has yet to be released, preliminary data suggests growing interest in most US states.
