Stratum Nutrition teams up with Sibelius Natural Products to bring science-backed ingredients to the UK
01 Jul 2024 --- Stratum Nutrition reveals it has partnered with Sibelius Natural Products for the exclusive distribution of its Stratum sage extract for cognitive health and its clinically researched eggshell membrane for joint health, NEM. The agreement will expand Stratum Nutrition’s offerings in the UK.
Innova Market Insights data suggests that supplement launches for brain support are on the rise, with a 14% compound annual growth rate between 2019 and 2023. Moreover, global launches of supplements and sports nutrition products with joint health claims are also increasing, with a 9% year-over-year growth from April 2022 to March 2024.
“As many will recall, Stratum just completed a purchase of Sibelius:Sage ingredient and now we get to continue utilizing their expertise in the UK market,” says Chris Haynes, Stratum Nutrition’s senior director of global sales.
“We are pleased to announce our partnership with Stratum as the UK distributor for sage and their flagship ingredient, NEM, under Oxford Natural Products,” adds Peter Leyland, CEO of Sibelius.
Science-backed ingredients
Stratum Nutrition’s NEM eggshell membrane is derived from the inner membrane of chicken eggshells, which it says is a natural source of collagen, glucosamine, chondroitin and hyaluronic acid.
The ingredients work synergistically to support joint health and are well-suited for dietary supplements aimed at promoting joint support and mobility.
Furthermore, extensive clinical research on NEM provides formulators and consumers with a clinically validated and science-backed ingredient.
Boosting cognition
Stratum Nutrition’s sage offering is a Salvia officinalis extract that helps support a healthy memory.
According to the company, the extract is standardized to high levels of rosmarinic acid, which is the bioactive compound responsible for many of sage’s cognitive benefits.
Additionally, the ingredient is non-GMO and cultivated using specific farming protocols, conditions and harvesting methods to ensure the consistency, reliability and standardization of the extract.
