New Jersey bill A1848, which would prohibit the sale of supplements for weight loss or muscle-building to consumers under the age of 18, has advanced in a 6 to 2 vote by the New Jersey Legislature Assembly Health Committee. As part of an ongoing slate of proposed legislation across the US, Steve Mister, the president and CEO of the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), and the Natural Products Association (NPA), both testified before the State’s legislature. The two organizations recently quashed similar legislation in California.
