The prevalence of obesity worldwide is increasing at an alarming rate. Obesity, with time, can give rise to numerous health problems, including cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. Therefore, there is an increased interest in developing health solutions to prevent or treat obesity. One possible solution can be found in plant polyphenols, which are natural compounds with high antioxidant capabilities. Numerous studies have shown that many plant polyphenols, as part of a healthy diet, can reduce the body weight of consumers, as well as improve their lipidic profile, reduce body weight, improve cardiovascular profile, decrease fatty deposits, and much more. In this analysis, we present an overview of how polyphenols help ameliorate obesity-related biological parameters, with a focus on a selected, clinically-validated combination of polyphenols.
